Reserve a Room in the Drupal Tower Before the End of 2010 and Receive a Free Pair of DrupalCon Pajamas!
As you know, DrupalCon Chicago is being held in the Sheraton Hotel and Towers in downtown Chicago. During DrupalCon, the Sheraton will become the Drupal Tower, your one-stop location for all conference activities and accommodations. We’ll have 24-hour access to the hotel’s conference facilities, meaning that even after the official program is done, DrupalCon can keep on going well into the evening.
And what better way to participate in a late-night coding session or conversation with friends than by showing up in a pair of DrupalCon commemorative pajamas?
That’s right, we’re giving away a free pair of DrupalCon pajama pants for every room reserved in the Drupal Tower through the end of 2010! Due to the lead time necessary for production of these limited-edition items, we can only guarantee their availability to those who register and reserve their room before the end of the year, so act now!
To make sure that that you get your pajamas, please indicate your size preference on your registration. If you have already reserved your room outside of the registration process, you'll need to indicate that you're staying in the Sheraton on the registration form. Please note that one pair of free pajamas will be provided per room, regardless of the number of people staying in that room.
Located at 301 East North Water Street in downtown Chicago, the Sheraton is a short walk to almost all of the city’s major attractions, such as Navy Pier, the Magnificent Mile, and the Art Institute, not to mention countless shopping, dining and entertainment options. All rooms include high-speed Internet access and feature views of either the Chicago River, Lake Michigan or the city skyline from over 210 feet up.

Beware the Sheraton's bed bugs
Can't wait for DrupalCon in Chicago, but I won't be staying at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers. See here for recent reports of bedbugs at the hotel (and the staff's apathy toward the situation):

Note that that site has a map
Note that that site has a map of other hotels in Chicago with the same "problem." Basically every hotel is listed on that site.
You can of course stay somewhere else, but it seems important to consider this information with a critical eye rather than just accepting it at face value.
Travel Advice for avoiding bedbugs
Was just coming over to toss up a link! My mother works at a hospital and they had everyone reading up on bedbug literature. Being the concerned and loving mother that she is, she emailed all her children with a lengthy warning and helpful links.
Here's a great one for traveling advice:

Cheers!
Sheraton's anti-bed bug policy
We reached out to the folks at the Sheraton about this, and they gave us the following statement:
The resurgence of bed bugs in the United States over the last five years is a widely-recognized problem. This problem has affected not only the hotel industry but hospitals, college dormitories and private multiple dwellings. It is suspected that this resurgence is a direct result of increased international travel to and from the United States, since bed bugs are easily transported in suitcases, purses and clothing, among other things.
To address this growing problem, Starwood Hotels and Resorts, our parent company has mandated an aggressive pest control policy, which includes regularly scheduled professional inspections and if necessary, elimination protocols. Key associates have been trained to assist in the early detection of infestation. Whenever an allegation of bed bug activity is made, the room is quarantined until a thorough inspection by professionals can be conducted.
Thanks, George, for
Thanks, George, for contacting them with this concern. It's true that nearly every hotel has this problem. Using the bedbug registry info, I was able to find a bug-free hotel in Manhattan, which is the epicenter of infestations... I know you can't prove a negative, but I trust the bedbug site as a result.
The fact that the Sheraton was so responsive is encouraging. Many hotels sweep bedbugs under the rug, so to speak.
Where are folks staying instead?
I'm considering the Doubletree nearby? Anybody know anything about it?
