This interactive session will present a case study for the recently launched (February '11) corporate website of a multinational, multi-brand travel company using Drupal as its first foray into open source web technologies.
The case will provide detailed accounts for how Drupal was used to:
1) Breath life into a new online brand and corporate idenity that replaced six pre-existing legacy brands, including an account of Drupal's role in a user centered design methodology
2) Facilitate the adoption of open source technologies by a Microsoft-centric IT organization, including an account of the criteria used to decide if Drupal should be run on Windows or Linux
The session will feature accounts from lead project stakeholders representing Marketing, IT, and the external Drupal design and development consulting team. Each will give their perspectives on the key factors leading to the project's success and on the challenges faced by their respective team's/departments along the way.
