Drupal 7’s multilingual system

Track:
Implementation and Config
Experience:
Intermediate

Like Drupal 7 itself, the multilingual system built into it puts a focus on flexibility and ease of use. Almost all of the screens and processes for multilingual setup got changes and improvements in the latest Drupal version with better contributed modules adding value on top. It was never easier to build multilingual sites, manage complex translation workflows and translate content.

In this session, we will go through the different elements of a multilingual Drupal 7 site: Drupal itself, contributed modules and themes and most importantly, your content. We will explain how to benefit from the drupal.org localization server for interface translation and how to create and manage multilingual content.

Intended audience:

Site builders, looking at what changed since Drupal 6.
Project managers who want to know about the operation of a multilingual Drupal 7 site.
Business owners, evaluating if Drupal is the right choice for their site.
