Drupal for the iGeneration

Track:
Design and UX
Experience:
Beginner

Is Drupal is customizable to meet anyone's needs? Numerous case studies demonstrate that Drupal certainly is capable of meeting major web accessibility requirements, including Section 508. However, technology is only part of implementing a great Drupal experience that provides full web accessibility. User experience and design is equally - if not more - important to these projects.

To test the boundaries of web accessibility with Drupal, this panel will explore site user experience and design for child users (ages 5-18). It will walk attendees through each of the major front-end activities required to design a site for this user community in line with best practices. It will even explore children as administrators to demonstrate how intuitive design can empower almost anyone to run a website.

Intended audience:

Web strategists; Information architects; Graphic designers; Evangelists; Interface Engineers; UXD Experts

Hello, I am 15, I administered Drupal 4.7 when I was 8 years old and did just fine.

Believe it or not, the iGeneration is smart.

Who says young people can't grok?

We have at least two core contributors who started in their young teens. My 7yo made his first Drupal site last fall. Get over it.
