In the first part of this session, we'll do a a quick overview of changes between Drupal 6 and Drupal 7 and what they mean for project managers.
Then we'll get into the "Get out of Node card" or how entities free you from a rigid data model (Fields for users, taxonomies, comments, forms with ajax sauce).
We'll go into details on how to best describe the structure of your project's data for a Drupal 7 projects (Entities, Bundles...) and then on how to best map relations between entities. We'll aslo dig into the new world of DBNG and what possibilities are opened by the databases abstraction layer.
Finally we'll give advice on how to strategize your Drupal 7 project : identify existing contrib modules, identify modules to be ported and advice to leverage financing the port by your client.
