Chris Hales

I've got a diverse background in industrial electronics, print design and production, systems administration and web development.

I started working with PHP and MySQL in 1997 when I needed to manage web content delivery to subscribers for a small press magazine I was publishing. I gradually started helping others with similar projects and eventually migrated over to being a full time web developer.

Drupal entered my life in 2007 while I was working with a friend on a social networking site. Drupal seemed solid enough for the foundation of what we needed but it was a hair pulling experience to say the least trying to wrangle certain aspects of the site. (I hacked core on that one). In Jan 2008 the same friend was working with Mediacurrent on a large Drupal project and asked if I'd lend a hand. I officially drank the Drupal Koolaid with that project and ended up becoming a regular employee with Mediacurrent a couple of weeks later and now I'm the DevOps Manager and a Lead Architect.

I can say I haven't been bored a single day since I started working with Drupal. Of course that's a mixed blessing at times but it's been an enjoyable ride along the way. I try to stay active in the community and cohost the Atlanta Drupal Coffee Meetup which is branch off of the Atlanta Drupal Users Group and you can find info about the meetups here, http://www.meetup.com/drupalatlanta/
