Cooking With Drupal: Drupal Distributions

Drupal Distributions... Everybody's talking about them. Are you working on one? Are you thinking about creating one? Or maybe you're just interested in the development practices behind them, and if they're valuable enough to add to your toolbox.

Developing in Drupal is like cooking. You assemble your ingredients, (Drush Make file), maybe add some prepared sauces (Features), and along the way, continue to tweak the recipe (Install Profile). Any good chef should know the tools that are out there to help them do their job. We'll give a bird's eye view on a few of these tools, why they exist, and how they'll turn your next project into an easy to maintain, stable end product.

Intended audience:

This is best suited for developers and project managers working on Drupal distributions, but also for any developer working on any Drupal project, as the development best practices learned from building distributions will make any project more stable, solid, and easier to maintain.
