What is the difference between a user and a contact? When you have a web site that collects a lot of information from users, they become contacts and it is useful to have a way to manage that information and turn it into actionable intelligence. This is the role of a CRM system, and Drupal provides a number of options for hooking into external systems to work with contacts.

This session deals with the options developers and site managers for tying Drupal into external CRM systems. We are going to provide short introductions to CiviCRM and Salesforce and demonstrate some of the ways they work together with Drupal to collect and manage contact information. We will discuss 15 other CRM systems and what level of integration exists between each of them. Finally, this session will focus on the DropCRM project and the progress developers are making towards building a Drupal based CRM system.

Intended audience:

Developers looking to work with CRM systems, Site Administrators looking to integrate CRM systems with Drupal.
