Jumpstart your theme with Style Guide

Track:
Theming

Beginner

The Style Guide module is a tool for site developers and themers. It provides a standard visual test suite for Drupal, allowing you to preview various elements of your site in all stages of theme development.

Style Guide can help you standardize discreet theme elements (lists, tables, headings) _before_ you move from wireframe to design. Since you will know what to expect from Drupal's markup and presentation, you can incorporate existing elements into your theme and identify problem areas before you even start. Conversely, it can allow themers begin to style markup before designs are completed.

We'll take a look at:

-- The basic features of the Style Guide module.
-- Using Style Guide to aid design and shorten development time.
-- Extending the module to add new elements to your preview.
-- Using Style Guide to explore design decisions with your clients

Intended audience:

Designers, site builders and project managers.
