QueryPath: Server-side jQuery for web servers

Track:

Experience:
Beginner

QueryPath is a PHP library that offers jQuery-like manipulation of XML and HTML. The Google Blog calls it "an essential part of the Drupal and PHP communities." Use it to scrape HTML, interact with web services, search XML files, and even query the semantic web.

In 2010, QueryPath became one of Drupal's Summer of Code projects, underwent a major upgrade, got a new logo, and landed an updated Drupal module. What can it offer developers? This session will cover the following:

  • What is QueryPath?
  • Who's using it?
  • What is new in QueryPath 2.1?
  • How can it be used within Drupal?

If you're already a QueryPath coder and would like to share a site or app, let the speaker know ahead of time. (We did this in Paris with great results.)

Intended audience:

PHP developers of all stripes. We will look at bits of code, but it will be heavier on screenshots, diagrams, and demos.
