Theming From Scratch

Track:
Theming
Experience:
Beginner

This session is designed to explain some basic to intermediate concepts about theming to non-developer types. Much of the information revolves around demoing these concepts using a short tutorial and building a basic theme from scratch.

It assumes that you know:

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • HOW TO COPY AND PASTE PHP

We simply build a theme that is our own from the ground up and leverage information that can be found in Drupal’s API as well as tips and tricks that have helped me understand how to theme in Drupal.

Intended audience:

Beginning Drupal themers or Designers wanting to get a leg up quickly and understand a lot of basic concepts to move their designs to Drupal without feeling the jargon or technological burden that is involved.
