Meta tags module for Drupal 7 planning

We need to get started on the Meta tags module for Drupal 7 (a rewrite of the Nodewords module). We have a fresh slate - let's plan on what we want to work on to make it rock.

I am one of (no doubt) many people waiting for that module. Dave, what were results of BoF?
I would be glad to join efforts on metatags module if you want. Probable it is possible to take some ideas and code from my http://drupal.org/project/metatags_quick module
