We've all heard many times now that Drupal doesn't do document management very well compared to real "DMS" systems like Alfresco, Knowledge Tree, et. al. I'd like to welcome anybody who would like to challenge that assumption.
Thanks for suggesting this BoF session. I've had a need for DMS functionality in my work and have explored numerous systems including Alfresco, KnowledgeTree, Epiware, and of course attaching things to email. I'd love to hear how other folks out there are meeting these needs and how Drupal can play a part (or whole) in that solution.
Much needed conversation for the Drupal community

Interesting
I don't know about "challenging that assumption," but I am interested in how one might improve document management in Drupal.
One of my sites has a rather weak, cobbled-together Document Management Tool using Taxonomy, TAC, Views, and a custom content type.
Document Management for Drupal
There is a BoF session on the Filedepot document management solution that you should plan to attend http://drupal.org/project/filedepot
