In this session I would like to talk/discuss on how a designer can become a
vital part of the Drupal community. Many times I hear "I am not a
developer, there are no ways how I could contribute to Drupal". There
are in fact many ways how even web and graphic designers can help and
contribute.
Here are some quick ideas that I will talk more about:
- Design icons for theme, forum, administration
- Design a custom theme and find someone to code it or offer to
premium Drupal theme shops
- Create a Drupal style guide, generic Drupal elements, ux/wireframing
kits/plugins
- Create banners, stickers, badges, wallpapers, infographics,
marketing materials for Drupal http://drupal.org/project/emr
- Write design related articles for Drupal blogs or try to have it
published on design blogs like http://www.smashingmagazine.com/ or
http://www.webdesignerdepot.com/
- Start your own blog focused on design, get listed on http://planet.drupal.org
- Create a Drupalcon/Drupalcamp session and talk about design in Drupal
- Help with national/local Drupal community or event/camp website and
marketing materials
- Help with Ux improvements of modules
- Join Drupaldesigners.org and share your knowledge, promote your
quality Drupal designs
