This session is intended to enlighten site architects and developers about the possibilities for increasing client control at the page level without sacrificing quality and consistency. Specific examples will be given.
Problem statement: Your client wants the control to edit different elements of a page outside of the actual node content area. The interface should be simple and client choices should never break the display.
Solution: Using a unique combination of common modules, some custom code and custom theming, the client's selections on the node-edit form will change many elements of the page, create custom teasers and perfectly nest the content in your hierarchy.
AutoMagical Display Elements Include:
- URL alias
- Breadcrumbs
- Sibling & child navigation
- Header-image (changing per site section or node)
- View of teasers for the sub pages
- View of teasers for related content (node-specific)
- Handling duplicate content pages
This session is intended for people who have already successfully planned, architected or built a Drupal site and would like to extend the interface to allow clients to control more parts of the site in a simple interface and also prevent
them from breaking the display.
