A common problem with Drupal sites is the time it takes to maintain all the modules and themes that are installed. Luckily there is a magical tool that helps reduce the pain a great deal. That awesome tool is Drush, the shell utility suite for Drupal.
Imagine being able to update Drupal core and all the modules of a site in 1 minute or less. Add one new module or hundreds without ever opening a web browser. All this is possible usually through a single command!
Come learn the fundamentals of Drush and stop doing things the old-fashioned way.
Drush is not limited to just updating and downloading modules. The deeper powers of Drush allow Drupal devotees to perform simple and complex tasks such as clearing caches, reading logs, or backing up and syncing a site database or its files. Again, usually in a single command!
Who should learn how to use Drush? Everyone who is a Drupal developer, sysadmin, or designer. The power of this tool is not limited to ninjas.
This session will cover:
- How to install Drush
- How to use basic Drush commands
- How to use advanced Drush commands
- How to extend Drush through plug-ins
- How Drush is used by large sites for even more advanced tasks

Drush for total n00bz
Drush 1-2-3 looks like a really good topic. Drush is something I know is good for me, but have avoided so far. A session that got even more basic and covered the necessary bits of just using a command-line console would be especially useful. I can't be the only person who loves Drupal but has no IT training and rarely works outside a GUI.
CLI (command line) newbies
While this session would not have the time to go over command line basics there are free videos all over the web including some nice get-started type CLI (command line) videos for Drupal users available from Addison Berry: http://www.lullabot.com/about/team/addison-berry
Drush 4.x
I plan to cover Drush 4.x in this session.
video?
Is there a video from this session?
oops
My bad. I thought I was posting this on the Drupal Camp LA site where this session was done last. Is there a video from that?
