Views is one of the single most powerful modules available to Drupal. jQuery may be the most powerful JavaScript library (and comes with Drupal already!). Tackling views themeing and jQuery in one quick session; you'll learn the basics of jQuery and how you can create slideshows, accordions, and interactive widget blocks. A great basis for developing your own modules, views, and enhancing the experience of your Drupal website.

This is an updated version of the presentation given at DrupalCon San Francisco 2010 to include Drupal 7 specific information and feedback form last year's presentation. We'll follow along some real world examples complete with code samples.

We'll cover:

  • How to theme views with CSS
  • How to theme views with template files
  • The basics of jQuery, no experience required!
  • How to make your view interactive with jQuery
Intended audience: 

Intermediate level designers and developers. Those who want to start making their websites more interactive with a minimal amount of code. Coding will be involved so a basic working knowledge of HTML and CSS is assumed. No JavaScript or PHP experience is required, but we will go over it so you must not fear it.
