Alex Urevick-Ackelsberg

Alex is responsible for all of the business functions of ZivTech, from Sales and Marketing, to Client Relations, to HR and Payroll, to Business Strategy. Alex loves to participate in the Drupal Community, and does so in a variety of ways: he maintains a number of modules, including the Embedded Media Field and Media: National Public Radio modules; he mentored and help adminster the Google Summer of Code and the Google Code-In for the Drupal Community from 2008-2010; he wrote much of the marketing copy for the ‘About’ section on the redesigned Drupal.org.
Alex has always had a knack for technology, a love for teaching it to non-technical users, and has over 11 years of professional technical experience. He taught himself how to administer Windows and Macintosh computers, which landed him a job at the New School, where he was attending Eugene Lang. Alex worked as a systems and LAN administer for 7+ years, and was able to get both himself and his wife free schooling that led to second degrees for both of them. He started using Drupal during the 2004 Presidential Campaign, while working with a youth outreach organization called Music for America, ¬and instantly fell in love with the CMS due to its ease of use and especially its remarkable SEO capabilities, which fed his appetite for search manipulation.
